Notes for Contributors
Manuscripts must be original, must not have appeared in another publication, and must not be dually submitted. All papers are peer-reviewed. Please submit manuscripts as e-mail attachments (preferred method: kostrzew@etsu.edu) or by regular mail with electronic files to:
Types of Contributions.The journal publishes full-length research papers, reviews, Clinical Reports, Rapid Communications, and Commentaries. Rapid Communications should be 2,500 words or less with up to three figures or tables and a maximum of 12 references. Commentaries are a maximum of 4 published pages, addressing recent issues, and providing novel insights. Authors are required to secure written permission from the Copyright Holder for republication of figures, tables, or running text in all articles submitted for review.
Tables and Figures.Each table and figure should be on a separate page. Tables should be numbered with Roman numerals; figures, by Arabic numerals. There is a $300 per-page charge for color; there is no charge for black and white reproduction.
Referencesare cited in the text by author name (e.g., Smith, 1999; Smith and Jones, 2000; Smith et al., 2001; Smith et al., 2002a,b). In a running list of references in the text, the sequence is by earliest year: (Smith, 1983; Jones, 1990; Abe, 2004). The Reference List should be alphabetical in the same style as J. Neurosci.:
